RBISE HSSC exam result
Rawalpindi, Jan 22: The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) announced result of Intermediate (HSSC) Supplementary Examination-2012 today (Tuesday).
RBISE spokesman Arsalan Cheema told this news agency that the board has compiled the result and it would be announced on Tuesday at 10 a.m., besides it would be available on compact disks.
PUICS director removed over 'harassment'
Lahore: Punjab University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has removed Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz from directorship of the varsity's Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) in connection with an inquiry.
Dean Faculty of Behavioral & Social Sciences Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakir will look after the affairs of the ICS with the assistance of Dr Afira Hamid, Assistant Professor, till further orders.
It is pertinent to mention here that there were allegations of sexual harassment against Dr Naz which he had categorically denied.
Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz, when contacted, termed the allegations baseless and said former Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC) Prof Dr Jamil Anwar had conducted inquiry and the case was closed as there was no substance in the complaint against him. When contacted, a Punjab University PU spokesperson confirmed the latest development saying the decision was taken to ensure an impartial investigation vis-à-vis allegations leveled against Dr Naz.
School principal found murdered at residence
Lahore: A 70-year-old school principal was found murdered at her residence under mysterious circumstances in the Mustafabad police limits on Monday. GCU holds Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) Conference
Lahore: The Government College University (GCU) Lahore on Monday organised Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) Conference in connection with Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) to express deep reverence on the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rahman chaired the conference, while Aastana Aalia Choora Shareef Attock Sajjada Nasheen Pir Syed Kabir Ali Shah was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Kabir Ali Shah announced Ashab-e-Suffa Award for Prof Dr Khaleequr Rahman for his commendable services to education. He also threw light on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and delivered his views on the importance of the month of Rabiul Awal in Islam. Addressing the gathering, the vice chancellor called Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) a role model for Muslims, and added that it was only by following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that one could become a true human being and bring reforms in society by eradicating social ills and immoral activities.
