BIEK declares commerce results
Karachi, Nov 28: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Wednesday announced the result of HSC Part-I Commerce Group Annual Examination 2013 for the private candidates. According to statistics, 7,144 candidates appeared in the examination and of these 2,117 were successful in all the seven papers and 1,495 in six papers. The number of those who cleared five papers was 1,101 and 917 in four papers. As many as, 655 candidates were passed in three papers, 440 in two papers while 300 could clear one paper only. A BIEK announcement said that the candidates will get their mark sheets at their mailing address after two weeks. No marks sheets at all will be issued from the board's office, it was further stated.
KU MA Arabic, BS results announced
Karachi: Karachi University (KU) on Monday announced the results of MA Arabic final (private) exams-2012 and BS Physiotherapy third year exams-2013.
According to MA results statistics, 11 students appeared in the exams, two of them passed it in A grade, making 18.18 pass percentage.
In the BS exams, 92 students appeared and 90 of them were declared successful. The pass percentage remained 97.83. ppi
DUET exams from 29th
Karachi: The Dawood University of Engineering and Technology is conducting BE and BArch mid-semester examinations of all disciplines at its premises from November 29.
The university has made all necessary arrangements to hold the examinations of electronic engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, management, architecture planning, metallurgy material engineering, computer system engineering, petroleum gas engineering, energy environment engineering and telecommunication engineering. Seven injured in DUET clash
Karachi: At least eight people were injuries during a clash between two student organisations at Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) on Wednesday. SHO Jamshed Town Humayun said the clash occurred between Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) and Punjabi Students Association (PSA) in the vicinity of the university. "Iron rods and bottles were used in the clash between the two parties, causing injuries to eight students." A DUET student, when contacted, said the atmosphere of the university was tensed from Tuesday after the first brawl between these two parties. University administration took no precautionary measures despite threat of feared clash, he said. The injured students were shifted to a local hospital in the city. 4,500 take DUET pre-admission test
Karachi:The entry test of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology was held peacefully in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Islamabad on Saturday.
DUET Vice Chancellor Faizullah Abbasi visited the entry test centre in Karachi and expressed satisfaction over the peaceful holding of pre-admission test. 4,500 appear in SSUET entry test
Karachi: About 4,500 candidates appeared in the entry test seeking admission to the engineering disciplines of Computer, Electronics, Civil, Bio-Medical and Telecom besides Computer Science at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) on Sunday.
The candidates are vying to get admission in the academic session 2014.
An official of the institution said here that the test was held at Expo Centre amid strict security arrangements.
A total of 400 invigilators performed their duties to keep check on thousands of candidates, who appeared in the test.
As per the official, this year, the ratio of female admission seekers appearing in the test was higher than the previous academic year 2013.
The test was held as per schedule at 10:00am for which exhaustive arrangements had been made by the examining authority.
A large number of candidates came from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir to appear in the test besides other parts of the four provinces.
Earlier, SSUET Chancellor, Engineer Muhammed Adil Usman, along with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Jawaid Hasan Rizvi and Registrar Syed Abrar Ali visited the test centre and appraised arrangements made by the authorities concerned.
The Chancellor said that Sir Syed University was engaged in preparing and producing future professionals in various fields of engineering.
He was of the view that the University has established itself as an internationally recognised institution because of the academic excellence.
"With career-focused education, SSUET enjoys the pride of having the best qualified faculty, which is committed to the highest international standards," he remarked.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Syed Jawaid Hassan Rizvi said on the occasion that keeping the new emerging trends in view and to meet the growing market demands, the University is introducing three new programmes. The new departments are for Software Engineering, Architecture and Bioinformatics, for which admissions commenced for academic year 2014.
As per the University officials, test results would be announced by mid-December and the candidates could check the same on SSUET Notice Board as well as the university's website. app
Sixth annual Urdu Conference to begin at ACP
Karachi: Urdu Conference, which is held in several cities of Pakistan, is a good gesture and positive development in terms of promoting the national language. KU announcements for admissions
Karachi: University of Karachi Director Admission Professor Khalid Iraqi has extended the submission date for admission forms for Chinese language course. Candidates may obtain and submit their forms at the University Silver Jubilee Gate until Friday, November 29, 2013. Moreover, the university also announced the submission date for Bachelors in Education and Masters in Education examination forms. Students would be able to submit their form with fee amounting to Rs 4,425 at their respective colleges. However, candidates who were enrolled in 2007 or prior to 2007 would have to pay an extra amount of Rs 3,000 along with the examination fee.
IBA director reappointed
Karachi: Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui has been reappointed director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Sukkur, with effect from Aug 29, 2013 for another term of four years.
