What are the passing scores for the USMLE three Steps?
The USMLE program recommends a minimum passing score for each Step. Currently, the minimum passing scores as set by the USMLE program are;
For Step 1: This score has changed to pass/fail, instead of getting three digit numerical score. To achieve this passing result, a candidate must ensure to answer atleast 60% of the items
For Step 2 CK: The passing score should be from 209 to 214. A candidate should target to achieve good score in CK, which is in between 240 to 260, but to match your first choice, one should target 256 score or above. For IMGs (International Medical Graduates), preferred score should be 240 or above.
For Step 3: The passing score is 198, whereas one should target a score of 230 or above as a good score.
